Questions
Do I need a key to use helm-viz?
Only at a larger organisation: one with 250 or more employees, or A$15 million or more in annual revenue, counting the whole group it belongs to. There, each person who uses helm-viz needs a key, after a 30-day evaluation. Everyone else uses it free with every feature: individuals, education, open source, and organisations under both thresholds. Without a key, new releases come by an emailed link.
Is this a subscription?
No. It is a one-off payment for a year of updates, and nothing renews automatically. To keep getting new releases, buy another year. If your current key has not run out yet, the new year starts when it ends, not on the day you buy.
How do I use the key in CI?
Store it as a secret named HELMVIZ_LICENSE. helm-viz reads it from there, and the same key gets download links for the pipeline from the API. The README that ships with helm-viz has the workflow step.
Does registering make helm-viz phone home?
No. The key is checked offline against a signature built into the binary, so it works on air-gapped machines and sends nothing anywhere. The only network call involving your key is the one you make to get download links.
What name should I enter?
The name of the person who will use helm-viz. A key is licensed to one person, on any number of their machines, and helm-viz shows the name as the registered owner. Your email is signed into the key too, but helm-viz never shows it and exports never include it.
I am buying for a team. How does that work?
One key per person who uses helm-viz, each bought in that person’s name. Your CI pipelines are covered by any of them and do not need a key of their own. If you want several keys on one invoice, email licenses@jcrstack.com.

Yes. Email licenses@jcrstack.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.
